Barcelona Writing Institute
Monday, July 3 - Friday, July 7, 2017
The Writing Institute is designed for K-8 educators, classroom teachers, school administrators, and curriculum specialists who are committed to turning classrooms into richly literate reading and writing workshops.
During this five-day institute, small and large group sections will tackle, headfirst, the central role of curriculum development and planning in the teaching of writing, units of study in writing, and genre studies in narrative, opinion, and information writing. You will also learn practical way to hold students accountable for doing their best work. You’ll hear ways that literature can help your students craft their writing.
This institute is for K-8 participants who have not attended a previous week-long TCRWP writing institute. Those interested in advanced or administrator sections are encouraged to apply to institutes held at Teachers College.
